Chapter Thirty-Four

Ian closed the bedroom door behind him and leaned against it, watching her with hot eyes.

Natasha didn’t turn on a light, but she didn’t need to. The full moon shone through the transoms at the top of the windows and made the room seem almost like daylight to people whose senses were attuned to darkness. She’d lost the blanket she’d wrapped around herself to walk out to the kitchen, but she was warm for the moment.

Hot with the desire coursing through her. How could it feel like this?

New, exciting, maybe even a little dangerous.

“Are you coming over here?” she asked, the backs of her knees against the side of the bed.

“I want to. More than anything.”

Her stomach fell a little. “You don’t trust me? You think I stole a knife from the kitchen so I could lure you here and finish the job?”

He shook his head. “Not at all. But it’s a little hard to forget that it was only two days ago when you felt miserable. It seems a little soon to do what I want to do to you.”

Her pussy ached at the thought of what he might want to do. “I was miserable. Jared’s miracle pill did the trick. Though it also makes me sleepy, but I’m not sleepy right now. And I’m not nauseous either.” She started to unbutton the silk pajama top. “I want you, Ian. I want to feel good, and I want to stop worrying. Just for a little while. Reality will hit me again soon enough.”

He moved a lot faster than she expected him to. It was as if he’d been held back by an invisible force that suddenly released when she said those words.

His mouth crashed down on hers, his tongue tasting, his hands seeking to divest her of clothes as she frantically worked to do the same with his. When they were naked, when there was nothing left between them but skin and heat, they fell to the bed together. Ian rolled her until she was pinned beneath him, and then he started work on her body, tasting the skin of her neck, nibbling her collarbones, then fastening his mouth over one distended nipple as she cried out and curled her fists into his shoulders.

“Ian… Don’t tease me…”

“Not teasing you, angel. I’m tasting you. I fucking missed this. Missed every beautiful inch of you.”

He dragged his mouth to her other nipple while he continued to softly pinch the one he’d just left. Natasha writhed beneath him, biting her lip to keep her moans at a reasonable level, but she feared it wasn’t going to work for long.

She wanted to be loud. Wanted to let go and feel what he did to her without any self-consciousness creeping in. “I missed you too,” she said. Or panted, really.

By the time he reached her abdomen, she was thrashing her head on the pillow, knowing what came next and wanting it so, so badly. When he settled between her legs, he didn’t immediately start licking her.
